| PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. -- Carson Perreaux scored his first-career hat trick and added an assist as the Prince Albert Raiders downed the visiting Brandon Wheat Kings 8-6 on Friday in Western Hockey League play. Prior to his offensive outburst, 18-year-old Perreaux had never scored more than once in a contest. He also set a new career-high for points, succeeding a three-point performance from last season against the Regina Pats. Josh Morrissey had two goals and an assist for the Raiders (3-0-0) while Leon Draisaitl scored once and set up two more. Craig Leverton and Matteo Gennaro each scored for Prince Albert and Shane Danyluk chipped in with three assists. Eric Roy led the Wheat Kings (2-1-0) with a goal and two assists while Rihards Bukarts, Jack Palmer, John Quenneville, Richard Nejezchleb and Tim McGauley each scored once. Gennaro opened the scoring just over three minutes into the first period and the Raiders went into the first intermission up 4-0. The Wheat Kings came alive in the second period, scoring three times, however they still trailed 6-3 after 40 minutes. Bukarts brought Brandon within a goal of tying the game at 14:40, but Perreaux scored into an empty net to seal the victory for the Raiders. Prince Albert went 2 for 9 on the power play while Brandon scored three times on nine chances with the man advantage. --- Oil Kings 4 Tigers 3 EDMONTON -- Cody Corbett and Henrik Samuelsson each had two goals and an assist as the Oil Kings edged Medicine Hat. Samuelsson scored the eventual winner at 16:38 of the third period for Edmonton (2-1-0) while Tristan Jarry made 33 saves for the victory. Tyler Lewington, Curtis Valk and Cole Sanford scored for the Tigers (2-1-0) as Marek Langhamer stopped 23-of-27 shots in defeat. --- Rebels 4 Pats 1 RED DEER, Alta., -- Connor Bleackley had a goal and two assists as the Rebels defeated Regina. Grayson Pawlenchuk and Matt Bellerive each had a goal and an assist for Red Deer (3-0-0) while Rhyse Dieno added a single goal. Chandler Stephenson scored for the Pats (1-3-0). Taz Burman made 16 saves for the win as Dawson MacAuley turned away 23 shots in a losing cause. --- Ice 4 Hurricanes 3 (SO) CRANBROOK, B.C., -- Jaedon Descheneau scored the shootout winner and set up three goals as Kootenay slipped past Lethbridge. Sam Reinhart had a goal and two assists for the Ice (1-2-0) while Levi Cable and Landon Peel scored the others. Tyler Wong, Bryton Sayers and Josh Derko scored for the Hurricanes (0-2-1) and Remi Laurencelle had two assists. Mackenzie Skapski made 29 saves for the win. Corbin Boes stopped 44-of-47 shots in defeat. --- Warriors 3 Broncos 2 (SO) SWIFT CURRENT, Sask., -- Justin Paulic made 42 saves and Todd Fiddler scored the winner in the shootout as Moose Jaw beat the Broncos. Brayden Point and Ben Duperreault scored in regulation for the Warriors (1-2-0). Graham Black and Zac Mackay produced goals for Swift Current (2-0-1) and Julius Honka earned an assist on both. Eetu Laurikainen stopped 35-of-37 shots in a losing effort. --- Blazers 5 Cougars 2 PRINCE GEORGE, B.C., -- Cole Ully and Tyson Ness each scored twice as Kamloops downed the Cougars. Josh Connolly had a goal and two assists for the Blazers (1-2-0), who went 2 for 4 on the power play. Tyler Mrkonjics first-career WHL goal was the only offence produced by Prince George (1-3-0). Seattle was on the verge of winning in regulation before Beau McCue forced overtime with a goal at 19:33 of the third period. Brian Williams led the Americans (1-2-1) with two goals and two assists and Connor Rankin had a goal and an assist. Justin Myles stopped 32 shots through 65 minutes and all five shooters in the shootout for the win. Eric Comrie made 32 saves in defeat.
